“[O]nce we begin to feel deeply all the aspects of our lives, we begin to demand from ourselves and from our life-pursuits that they feel in accordance with that joy which we know ourselves to be capable of.”Audre Lorde, Uses of the Erotic: The erotic as Power.

is cultural studies person and curator of all things fine & interesting.
Together with Dr. Nadine Siegert she runs the publishing house iwalewabooks, a platform for books about art & discourse operating from Bayreuth/Germany and Johannesburg/South Africa.
She works at Iwalewahaus at the University of Bayreuth, where she runs together with an amazing team (Dr. Ulf Vierke, Lena Naumann, Philipp Schramm, Girmay Gebrehmedin and Bastian Beekes) the Bavarian centre for inclusion in cultural institutions, such as museums, and spaces for learning and exchange, such as universities. Her driving force is the utopia of radical equality and accessibility.
Together with Dr. Klaus Wührl-Struller she founded and kicked off the festival Bayreuth blättert which annually presents literature for all senses and abilities in the urban space of Bayreuth; and is realized with a great team.
She’s part of the Sophiatown Arts Festival team, enthusiasts from the suburb which imagine and host a community-driven annual arts festival starting in 2019 in the iconic suburb of Sophiatown in Johannesburg.
It’s a great honour for her to be part of the board of the Trevor Huddleston Memorial Centre in Sophiatown.
Furthermore, she runs youth exchanges around this beautiful earth, mainly between the countries she’s been in mostly, Germany and South Africa.
With all of that, she devotes her time to the idea that pleasure is a deep form of knowledge; and that love is a gift and a call for action.
